A HELSTON woman will raised money for the British Heart Foundation when she has her head shaved on Saturday.

Catherine Reed and her sister Elizabeth Parsons, who lives in Somerset, are calling themselves the Baldilocksisters on their JustGiving fundraising page.

They will also both be donating our hair to a cancer sufferers wig maker.

Catherine said on her JustGiving page: "The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target."

"On a personal note my family have personally seen the toll a heart condition can take on a loved one and have been through the worry, stress and uncertainty of multiple surgeries and recovery.

"We are eternally grateful for all the medical help and emotional support we have received from both professionals and friends and family alike, and this is my way of saying thank you, and hopefully helping others to survive and thrive as well as we have."

The head shave will take place at the St Ives Slingmeet in Carbis Bay at 11.45am.

Elizabeth will have her head shaved in Somerset.
