The Met Office has issued a flood alert for much of Cornwall.

Some localised flooding is possible, including in Commercial Road in Penryn, Trefusis Road in Flushing and the A39 at Perranarworthal among others.

People have been advised to stay away from risk areas and take care when near the coast.

Winds are generally expected from a southerly direction and to remain below Force 6.

Wave impacts are possible at exposed locations such as Porthleven, Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole.

Floods are most likely to happen between today (Wednesday February 20) and Friday (February 22), with the worst of the waves expected on Friday.

The Met Office has advised people to stay up to date on the latest weather and tide conditions.
