Redrow Homes’ Mellior Park development in Pool has raised £1,000 for the Cornwall Air Ambulance.

The team at the Cornish development donated all proceeds from the sale of show home furniture to the charity, which flies more than 800 lifesaving missions each year.

Given the county’s isolated beaches, rural settlements and challenging road networks, Cornwall Air Ambulance is considered a lifeline by residents and visitors alike but relies solely on donations to fund its vital service.

The sales team at Mellior Park came up with the fundraising idea when the sold home needed clearing out to be ready for its new occupants.

In total, the donations raised £1,000 for the charity, which will go towards the New Heli Appeal to help bring a new air ambulance helicopter to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Steph Preston-Evans, corporate fundraising officer at Cornwall Air Ambulance, said: “We are delighted Redrow Homes are supporting the New Heli Appeal. Every donation brings the charity a step closer to getting a new helicopter which is fantastic.”

Annie Williams, head of sales at Redrow West Country, said: “Here at Redrow we’re always looking for ways to give back to the area and the wonderful work people do here.

“The Cornwall Air Ambulance provides a lifesaving service and we hope that our donation to the charity will help those in danger get the medical attention that they need.”
