A BUNGALOW fire took place in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters from Helston and Tolvaddon rushed to the scene at Snakey Lane, between Four Lanes and Penhalvean, near Redruth, just after 5.30am.

A total of 17 firefighters on three fire appliances attended a call to a bungalow, which was well alight on their arrival.

A spokesman for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews confirmed on arrival that the bungalow measuring 8 x 10 metres was well alight and crews fought the fire defensively."

Crews are continuing to monitor hotspots and are damping down.

The police have been informed and are on scene.

Western Power is also in attendance to isolate power to the property and Highways attendance has been requested to close the road at this location.
