FALMOUTH Lifeboat Station welcome Paul Young-Jamieson, High Sheriff of Cornwall and his wife Claire on Wednesday.

It is part of his wish to visit all the Cornwall lifeboat stations to thank the volunteer crews and present a cheque to each station before his term of offices ends on March 24.

The High Sheriff’s chosen charity during his term of office has been the RNLI and in particular the Cornwall lifeboats.

During his visit, the High Sheriff and his wife witnessed the launch on exercise of the station’s Atlantic 75 inshore lifeboat Eve Pank, before being shown around the Severn class all-weather lifeboat Richard Cox Scott by volunteer shore crew member and boat guide Ian Bailey.

After the tour the High Sheriff presented a cheque to Falmouth Coxswain Jonathon Blakeston.
