A new town mayor has been elected for Falmouth.
Councillor for Boslowick ward Steve Eva has been chosen as Falmouth's mayor and will take over from Grenville Chappel in a mayor-making ceremony in May.
Councillor Eva is an ex-serviceman who has sat on the council for 15 years. He also owns Fal Carpet Cleaners.
Councillor for Smithick ward John Spargo put councillor Eva forward for the role, saying "I think it's about time he's recognised for his experience.
"I think Steve's been a great help to us all, especially for a few of us that have been new members.
"That knowledge is so important to us that I think it's time he had it recognised."
In response, councillor Eva said that he would be "honoured" to accept the post.
