A Helston optician is marking a successful first year as an independent business after they took over the practice from national chain Vision Express.

Matthews Opticians and Hearing Care have gone from strength to strength in the past year and are celebrating the achievement with a special party for customers and patients on Saturday (March 16).

Adam Matthews, Director & Optometrist, said: “This first year has flown by but we couldn’t have been happier with how it has gone.

“The move to become an independent practice has allowed us to become more customer focused, with a personalised and friendly feel to our service.

“We can’t wait to welcome our patients and customers to celebrate with us, as they are the people we have to thank for making this success a reality.”

The event, from 10am to 1pm, is taking place at their practice on Coinagehall Street, will give customers the chance to receive 30 per cent off selected sunglasses and 10 per cent off their entire range.

Customers will also be treated to free Prosecco and nibbles, along with a tombola throughout the day, with all proceeds going to Henry’s Charity.

Vision Express had traded at the location in Helston for ten years, but, in an unprecedented move, the practice was taken over by staff to form an independent business in March 2018.
