DESPITE a bit of wind and rain Falmouth became a blaze of colour on Thursday as Paint the Town Yellow Day saw schoolchildren give out daffodils.

They were supported by staff from the University of Exeter and pre-school youngsters from Tarq's Arq and Naturally Learning.

Schoolchildren from St Mary’s, King Charles, Falmouth Primary, St Francis and Marlborough schools were involved and between them distributed the huge volume of daffodils, donated to the Falmouth Town Team from Greenyard Flowers of Penzance, to town businesses, care homes, organisations and passers-by.

Falmouth BID manager, Richard Wilcox, said: "A huge thank you goes out from the organisers to Greenyard Flowers, who pulled out all the stops to support us with the enormous number of daffodils."
