A “dangerous structure” had to be cordoned off by emergency services this lunchtime for fear it could injure passers-by.
Firefighters were called to Leedstown shortly before midday after a bus shelter was seen “moving dangerously in the wind.”
A crew from Tolvaddon confirmed that the shelter in Fraddam Road, close to the Duke of Leeds pub, was dangerous before cordoning off the area, to prevent people from getting too close and potentially being injured.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue said: “A general purpose line was used to secure the bus shelter to prevent it from causing a danger to the public.
“Cornwall Highways have been informed of the dangerous structure.”
A highways team has spent the afternoon dismantling the shelter, to prevent it from causing further problems as the strong winds continue into this evening.
A yellow weather warning is currently in place by the Met Office, lasting until 9pm today, with gusts of up to 50mph forecast.
