Falmouth Marine School will be opening its doors to prospective students and their families this weekend to showcase the range of courses they have on offer.

Open from 10am until 12 noon on Saturday March 30, organisers say the event is an excellent opportunity to get a feel for student life, meet staff and students, explore departments and gather information on the various courses on offer.

Advice and guidance will be provided on finance, accommodation and courses and qualifications in boatbuilding, watersports, marine engineering and marine science.

“We are a specialist college that offers entry-level to degree-level courses, including apprenticeships, many of which are not offered anywhere else in the county,” said Head of Falmouth Marine School, Bob Harris.

“We want to help students develop, not only the right qualifications, but to help them gain real employability skills and experiences. This is an excellent opportunity for students of all ages to come and explore what is on offer at Falmouth Marine School.”

The student run aquaculture society will be delivering informative talks regarding the species in the marine biology laboratory tanks from 11.30am until 12.30pm.

There are also free bookable taster sessions from 1pm to 4pm for potential students to get a feel for what it would be like to study at the college.
