A MAN is fighting for his life in hospital after a crash in Truro on Thursday.

Emergency services were called to the A390 Treyew Road at around 5.07pm after a two-vehicle collision.

It was reported that a motorcycle was in collision with a silver Honda while travelling along the carriageway at the intersection along Chapel Hill.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman: "The motorcyclist, a 58-year-old man local man, sustained potentially life-threatening pelvic injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains."

The driver of the car was uninjured.

The road was close for more than seven hours to allow emergency services to work at the scene.

Police enquiries are ongoing.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and information.
