A DRIVER has been killed in a crash on the A30.

It happened at around 12.35am on Saturday morning on the eastbound carriageway, two miles west of the Victoria Interchange.

The collision involved a Renault Clio, an Audi A4 and a lorry.

The driver of the Clio was pronounced deceased at the scene, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

The two occupants of the Audi were taken to Treliske Hospital with moderate injuries and the driver of the lorry was uninjured.

Specialist officers from the Devon and Cornwall’s Alliance Roads Policing Team attended the scene, along with a Forensic Collision Investigator and a Scenes of Crime Officer. 

A police spokesman said: “A full investigation of the scene took place and officers are working to establish the cause of this tragic collision.”

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the collision, or who may have any dashcam footage, to contact them on 101, quoting log number 32 of March 30, 2019.

Officers thanked the public for their patience while they investigated what was “a complex and challenging scene”.
