NEW tenants of a 19th century pub are hoping to raise the final few thousand pounds to help out an old friend's charity effort.
Emma and Terry Teague, who are awaiting a full refurbishment of The Kings Head in Chacewater, are helping Betty Stogs who is running the London Marathon this year in aid of Children's Hospice South West.
Betty is very close to reaching her target of £26,000 and with help from Falmouth Marine Band this Saturday, the pub will be hosting a Fun Day to help raise the last few thousand.
There will be delicious Mexican street food from Tortilleria and lots of lovely Cornish Ales at the pub, with a Cornish singsong and stand up comedy from the Queen of Ale herself.
To help raise funds, The Kings Head will be hosting a raffle of wonderful prizes, tombola and games. There will be face painting and things to do for the little ones and maybe one or two songs from marine band members too.
If you have something that you would like to donate to the raffle or tombola or to buy tickets, please contact 01872 560941 or deliver to The Kings Head after midday before Saturday. Follow the event on Facebook @thekingsheadchacewater
Emma and Terry would like to thank everyone for their support so far in donations and kindness and feel very welcomed into their new community in Chacewater. The Fun Day starts at 3.30pm.
