A PUB in the heart of a picturesque Lizard Peninsula village has been sold.

Property firm Stonesmith has announced the sale of The New Inn, situated in the heart of Manaccan.

The New Inn is the only pub in the village, which is close to the Helford estuary's delightful coves and beaches.

It is a characterful Grade II listed thatched village freehouse.

The impressive free-of-tie leasehold property has been comprehensively refurbished and extended in the last three years, to include a new dining room and a kitchen.

The inn retains many attractive character features including family-sized three-bedroomed owners' accommodation, a beer garden and extensive car parking.

The pub was owned by a village based co-operative society, who acquired the pub in 2015.

The directors of The New Inn Manaccan have worked hard to put the historic inn back on the map and created a new lease which was bought by Kathy Gray.

Kathy has already been given a warm welcome by the local community, and has met many of the existing customers.

She is busily working to create a new menu and hopes to be offering food in the next few weeks. She is looking forward to the summer season and hopes to meet many more new and existing clientele.

Mike Phillips, director of Stonesmith, said: “We were delighted to assist the company with the sale of this iconic Cornish pub, and we wish Kathy every success with her new venture."

Stonesmith is one of the leading business transfer agents in the south west, specialising in the sale of licensed businesses across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset.
