FREE hot cross buns will be offered during the annual Walk of Witness on Good Friday, writes George Fortey.

The annual walk, run by the Falmouth and Penryn Churches Together group, is hoping to provide people with extra insight into the Easter time story.

Each bun will be accompanied by a wrapper that will describe the significance and history of the cross and what it means to the Christian faith.

The walk will start at 10am from the Emmanuel Baptist Church and proceeds down to The Moor, where the buns will be handed out.

It will then continue, through the town, pausing at churches along the way, to sing songs and conduct readings that tell the Good Friday story.

The walk finishes with a short service at King Charles Church at around 11am where refreshments will be available.

Alternatively, if the walk isn’t for you then you might be interested in the Easter Sunday Sunrise Service that takes place on Pendennis Point at 6:10am on April 21.

This service, for early risers, features spectacular views over Falmouth Bay and the River Fal.
