A generous supporter has gifted £100,000 towards the appeal to bring a new air ambulance to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Cornwall Air Ambulance received the single donation from an anonymous donor this week, which takes the appeal total past the half way mark.
Amy Richards, New Heli appeal manager, said: “This has been a fantastic week for the appeal. It is wonderful to receive such a significant donation and we are enormously grateful.
“We are so thankful to everyone who is holding a coffee morning, taking on a challenge or simply donating what they can towards the appeal - you are all making an amazing difference. It’s thanks to a huge concerted effort from our supporters that we are now past the half way mark, and well on our way to hitting the £2.5million needed by April 2020.”
This week the charity also received £1,521.91 from the inTune Choir following a concert in Padstow, £750 from a non uniform day at St Columb Minor Academy, and collected £828 at the launch of 2019 New Heli Appeal Grand Draw in partnership with Ocean MINI and the Cornish Pirates.
With less than a year to go to bring a new AW169 helicopter to the county, the New Heli Appeal total now stands at £1,253,404.11.
