An "ongoing incident" is taking place in Penryn this afternoon after a woman was found on the foreshore needing treatment.
Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team were drafted in to support the South Western Ambulance Service, which was called just after midday.
However, the volunteers were stood down en route, after being told the casualty was safely in the care of ambulance staff.
She had become stuck on the river bank, needing help on the foreshore of the river near Islington Wharf, just off Commercial Road.
The coastguards were stood down after being told that she was safe.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 1.02pm and attended with an ambulance. This incident is currently ongoing."
The woman has been taken to Treliske Hospital, but she is not thought to have suffered any serious injury.
