A FALMOUTH man who used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards a woman has been given a community order.

Appearing before Truro magistrates on Monday, Cameron Stuart McTaggart, of St Nazaire Terrace, admitted committing the offence on March 28 in Falmouth.

He also pleaded guilty to possessing 1.3grams of cannabis on the same day.

The 34 year-old has been put under curfew with electronic monitoring for nine weeks. He must comply with a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.

He is also the subject of a restraining order, forbidding him from contacting the victim for 12 months.

A WOMAN has been banned from the roads for three years after admitting drink driving.

Katherine Louise Lentern, aged 27, of Trewen Road, Budock Water, committed the offence in a black BMW in Budock Water on March 24.

She had 61mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath - the legal limit is 35mcgs.

She was also fined £230 and ordered to pay £85 costs.

A TRURO man who possessed an open container of alcohol in a public place has been given a suspended prison sentence.

Robert Edward Derosa, aged 37, c/o City Road, admitted committing the offence on January 6 in Truro, when he was prohibited from doing so by a criminal behaviour order issued by Cornwall magistrates on September 26, 2017.

His 16-week jail term was suspended for 12 months because magistrates felt he is making "genuine efforts" to rehabilitate himself.

He was ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge.

DRIVING whilst under the influence of drugs has resulted in a disqualification for a Falmouth man.

Scott David Townsend, aged 23, of Acacia Road, admitted having cannabis in his blood on Falmouth Road in a Seat Ibiza, on November 24 last year.

He was banned for 16 months and fined £184. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

A FALMOUTH man stole six bottles of alcohol to the value of £84 belonging to Asda in Penryn.

Ieuan Reed, aged 34, of Meadowbank Road, admitted committing the offence on March 27.

He received a 12-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

A TEENAGER who resisted a police officer in the execution of his duties has been given a 12-month conditional discharge.

Jack Rhodes, aged 19, of no fixed address, admitted committing the offence on April 10 in Helston.

He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

A 31 year-old man who harassed a woman appeared before Truro magistrates.

Dean Francis, of Wellington Close, Camborne, admitted committing the offence between April 7 and November 29 last year.

A restraining order was imposed, ordering him not to contact her for two years. He was also given a 12-month conditional discharge an ordered to pay £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

A 62 year-old man has been sent to prison after breaching a suspended sentence.

Leslie Davies, of no fixed address, went to an address in Redruth which he was prohibited from visiting.

He pleaded guilty to the offence, which activated a suspended sentence imposed on April 11, relating to a previous visit to the address.

Davies was jailed for 12 weeks and ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

A 26 year-old woman has been banned from driving for 18 months.

Jessica Louise Fry, of Scholar Road, Truro, admitted drink-driving in a Seat Arosa on the A39 at Penryn, on March 29.

She had 81mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

Fry was also fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.
