Falmouth community radio station SourceFM's tenth anniversary will coincide with the unveiling of a new stage in Kimberley Park.

The stage will replace previous temporary structures for events including Parklive, SourceFM's monthly summer live music festival.

The first Parklive of 2019 will feature six music acts and two spoken word acts and will be hosted on a special stage protected by a sail between two trees and takes place on Sunday 28th April.

A small group of volunteers started SourceFM up at the Tremough Campus in 2009 and then launched Parklive in 2013. Since then local businesses and the town council have supported the event with sponsorship and raffle prizes, which keep Parklive alive.

Held on the last Sunday of the month from April through to September, often with two stages, Parklive showcases original music, spoken word acts and alongside Kimberley Park’s own café there are more visiting food stalls. SourceFM also has its own merchandise including t-shirts and stickers, which can be bought at the event.

Parklive is delighted to feature 8-piece The Roustabouts Collective alongside the lively proto-punk of Tycklemore Goats and powerful vocals from singer-songwriter Jeanne Naylor and her band. In support are Source FM's very own Brytevibes, Sam Bradbury, MCMC Spoken, Mac Dunlop as well as beat-boxer Fr4ctl.

Parklive this month will be followed by five subsequent events, which are held on the last Sunday of each month through to September with live music from 12.30pm until 5.30pm. The event is free entry and to maintain its family appeal with children’s play areas, no alcohol is allowed in the park.

More information about Parklive can be found on www.parklive.rocks, and artists can send their details in for future events. SourceFM has its own Facebook page as well as Twitter and Instagram to share experiences of the event.
