Firefighters have been tackling a large blaze in west Cornwall this evening.
A crew of six firefighters was initially called to Ludgvan just after 6.30pm, following reports of a “fire in the open.”
They found an area of gorse on fire, spanning 100 metres.
Due to the size of the blaze the crew called for backup, with another fire engine from Penzance and a further crew from St Ives being sent.
They used two jets and beaters to put out the flames.
