Organisers of Falmouth's Pink Wig Night have increased the event's capacity after tickets started selling out quicker than ever.

After two sell out years in 2017 and 2018, the Pink Wig team met with Tim Vigus from South West Bars and Events over the weekend to talk about this year's event.

His advice has been taken on board, and an additional 200 tickets will now be sold to meet demand.

Emma Kent, chairperson of Pink Wig, said: "We've made the decision to make this our biggest event ever, with only approximately 150 tickets remaining, we are increasing our capacity by an additional 200.

"We have never experienced tickets selling as quickly as they are this year. There were a lot of disappointed ladies last year, who left buying their tickets until the last minute, unfortunately for them we had already sold out.

"This year we decided to start selling tickets earlier and have been blown away by the demand. Tickets aren’t just selling locally, they are being purchased by people from across the UK.”

The 2019 Pink Wig night is on August 9 with the parade starting at 6.30pm on The Moor.

The event was first put together in support of founder Sally Hicks-Wood, when Sally and her friends went on a night out in Falmouth after her breast cancer diagnosis.

The ladies all wore pink wigs for moral support, knowing that Sally would probably lose her hair during treatment.

Sally sadly passed away in May 2015, but her memory lives on in the events.
