This year’s Enys 10K on April 8 was organised by local mental health charity Carrick Mind and a charity supporting orphans in South Africa Project Primrose following the closure of Penryn Rotary Club.

Held in perfect weather conditions, the race's biggest ever field of 151 runners saw a new runner Kyle Chapman finish first in 37 min 18 secs, followed closely by Carn Runners Paul Sawford in 38 min 54 secs.

A visitor from Barnet and District AC Zoe Levin came in first place with a time of 41 min 24 secs followed by Mile High runner Beth Popperwell in at 44 min, 33 secs.

Race director Jon Gladstone chief executor of Carrick Mind said: "It was an amazing day and we have raised over £3000 to be split between to the two charities. We would like to express our thanks to Kimberly’s Estate Agents for being the main sponsor of goody bags and water bottles, Enys House for allowing us to use their grounds to hold the run, Penryn Sea Cadets for helping, Andyloos for the toilet hire, Penryn Plastics for the high vis bibs, Cornwall Search and Rescue for the first aid cover, DeeGee photography, Falmouth Asda for supplying the water along with all the volunteers and helpers on the day for marshalling and making it such a successful event.

"We are already in progress of organising the run next year as runners were commenting how much they enjoy and look forward to such a ‘challenging’ run!"
