Police were called at around 10.55am on Tuesday following reports of a collision on the A3075 near Goonhavern involving a car and a van.
Specialist officers from the Devon and Cornwall’s Alliance Roads Policing Team attended along with responders from the Fire & Rescue and South West Ambulance Service.
The driver of the car, a man in his thirties, was reported to be trapped in his vehicle.
He sustained potentially sustained life-changing injuries to his leg and was taken to Derriford hospital by air ambulance.
The driver of the van sustained minor injuries and was taken to Treliske hospital by land ambulance.
The road was closed whilst a full investigation of the scene took place and officers are working to establish the cause of this collision.
Police thank the public for their patience while they investigated the scene.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to telephone 101 quoting Log 0223 23/04/19.
