Two further cereal bar brands have been recalled over fears they could contain salmonella.

It follows Asda recalling packs of its own-brand 35g Cranberry and Nut Cereal Bars with a sell by date of September 2019.

Falmouth Packet:

The supermarket has now added its own-brand Peanut and Almond Cereal Bar four-pack, also with a best before date of September 2019, due to a risk of salmonella.

Falmouth Packet:

Asda is not the only company affected, however. Tesco has now recalled its own-brand Apricot Almond and Yogurt Bars for the same reason.

Affected packs of four have the batch codes 9100 and 9101 and a best before date of January 31 2020.

Falmouth Packet:

All withdrawals from the shelves have been described as a “precautionary step.”

Symptoms caused by salmonella can include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

Shoppers who have bought these products are advised not to eat them. Instead they can be returned to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.
