A novel inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream marks a Mullion author’s first published work.

Lucinda Hart is preparing to see Oberon Out hit the shelves on May 31.

It follows four situations as they develop: a midsummer wedding in a Georgian house and garden, a doomed love affair in the Welsh mountains that ended brutally, a farmers’ market at the turning of the season, and illicit goings-on at a department Christmas party.

Taking inspiration from the final line of the 16th play, “And Robin shall restore amends,” it is up to Robin Goodfellow to resolve four very different problems.

Lucinda said: “I call it a tale of might-have-beens, loosely based on A Midsummer Night's Dream.”

She admits to be “obsessed” with the play by William Shakespeare, which resulted in this latest work.

While this is her first published novel, she has actually written eight prior to this and has also seen success recently with her flash fiction (developed pieces of fiction comprising only a few hundred words), sections of novels and short stories being shortlisted for various awards.
