Tomorrow sees an early Flora Day "practice" for Helston Town Band when they carry out their traditional May Day parade round the town.

Members leave the Guildhall at 7am and then again at 7pm, playing the Flora Dance.

The route will take the band up Meneage Street to Meneage House and back again, before they head up Wendron Street, down Penrose Road into Church Street and along to Cross Street.

From here they will cut through to the Bowling Green and head up Coinagehall Street to finish back at the Guildhall.

The evening procession will also include Penhallez Hill, St Johns Road and Nettles Hill, with the whole route usually taking around an hour.

Many people use it as an opportunity to polish up their dance steps ahead of Flora Day exactly a week later, with the evening parade often attracting large crowds following on behind the band.
