A REPEAT offender has been sent to prison for drink driving and driving whilst disqualified.

Aleksandras Vasurkinas, aged 43, of Green Lane, Redruth, was taken into custody on Friday after being arrested on the A30 at Tolvaddon.

He pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified, drink driving and driving without insurance. He had 76mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

Magistrates sentenced him to 20 weeks in prison and disqualified him from driving for 46 months. He was also ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
