FOUR women who joined the Penryn Slimming World group have not only lost an impressive seven stone between them, they have also formed a great friendship.

Lynette Cairns and Caroline White, who are target members, both said that their health has improved no end and feel so much more confident and mobile.

Caroline said: "Before my one and a half stone weight loss I had some tests done at the doctors. I was told that I had a very fatty liver.

"This is very dangerous and can lead to other health problems such as type 2 diabetes.

"My GP said that I must improve my diet and cut out all the bad stuff. Further tests on my liver have shown that everything is now back to normal so that in itself was wonderful news."

Josephine Trethewey and Jocelyn Brookfield are still on the journey but enjoy the support, inspiration and friendship in group each week.

Lynette and Josephine swim together once a week, which is another step in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Beverley Dobell, the group consultant said: "The four ladies are amazing - they run the raffle each week for the group and are so friendly to each and every member that comes through the door.

"They are such a big part of what our slimming world groups are about, loosing weight in a warm and supportive atmosphere. I am so proud of what the four ladies have achieved to date."

Beverley's groups meet at Penryn Rugby Club every Thursday at 7.30pm and Friday 9.30am and at the Dracaena Centre Falmouth, every Saturday at 8.30am.
