Guests were forced to flee their beds after a fire broke out at a hotel in West Cornwall during the early hours of this morning.
The fire service was inundated with 999 calls to Mousehole, just before 12.30am.
Crews from Penzance and St Just arrived first but on finding smoke billowing from the building they called for back up.
Further firefighters from Hayle and Falmouth were sent, along with an incident control vehicle from St Just.
The hotel was evacuated, with the 12 guests staying there taken to a neighbouring hotel.
Firefighters wore special breathing equipment while they put out the fire with jets.
A fire service spokesperson said: "The fire was contained to the kitchen area and a fire investigation team will be attending later on this morning."
