Cornish clothing brand Seasalt has launched a charity programme that will see £30,000 go to local charities this year.

As part of the initiative each of Seasalt's 63 shops has nominated a charity to receive £500, with the Penryn outlet choosing to support South West Lakes Trust. This decision will not only see the money go to this organisation but also see the team do a day's volunteer work for the charity, as well as for two others.

Deap Khambay, Head of Sustainability at Seasalt said: “Community is immensely important to us at Seasalt, and I am extremely proud that everyone has embraced the opportunity to positively impact more communities than ever before.”

The charity South West Lakes is concerned with the promotion of public access and conservation for inland waters and manage 40 of them, from West Cornwall to West Sussex.

Seasalt has said that as part of their continued commitment to supporting local communities, they also donate to the charities Mylor Sailability, Hospital Rooms and Cornwall Community Foundation’s C100 Club.

With its shops spread nationwide, the company is hoping to benefit multiple charities and organisations across the UK.
