For the first time time there is now somewhere to get free water in Helston 24 hours a day.
A drinking water fountain has been put in at Coronation Park by the Lizard Peninsula Friends of the Earth, as part of the town's ongoing efforts to tackle the climate emergency and cut out single-use plastic.
The fountain can be found outside the Lakeside Cafe and was unveiled this week, to coincide with National ReFill Day.
It gives people the chance to have a drink straight from the fountain, or refill a bottle while passing.
Yvonne Lewer, from the Friends of the Earth group said: "The date was significant, as it has been designated National ReFill Day, when people are being encouraged to start swapping their single-use plastic water bottles for a refillable one."
Helston mayor John Martin was among the guests at the unveiling.
A free drinking water fountain in Helston has been a long-time ambition for the group and has been made possible using a bequest given some years by local resident John Mackay.
A sign has been put up next to the fountain including a tribute to Mr Mackay.
