Cornwall Air Ambulance landed on a narrow strip of beach in St Ives today (Sunday June 23) so that paramedics could treat a suspected broken ankle.
The helicopter landed on Bamaluz Beach, behind Smeatons Pier, at around 3pm after a call regarding a woman who had fallen.
St Ives Coastguard Rescue Team also attended the scene and assisted the air ambulance crew.
The moment that the air ambulance touches down on the beach was captured on video by Jonathan Chaffin.
It shows members of the coastguard team assisting the casualty before the helicopter lands.
A large ‘H’ in a circle that was drawn into the sand to mark a landing area can also be seen.
