Police have released more details about the woman who died in a two-car crash near the A30 yesterday lunchtime.

She was a 60-year-old woman from Redruth and has been named as Michelle Lorain Dickens. 

She was driving a Vauxhall Astra near Chiverton Cross, on the outskirts of Truro, when it was involved in a collision with a Mazda MX5 just before 1.30pm.

She was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the Mazda a 59-year-old man from Doncaster sustained a serious leg injury and was taken to Derriford Hospital.

The passenger in the Mazda, a 50-year-old local man, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Treliske Hospital as a precaution.

Specialist officers from the Devon and Cornwall’s Alliance Roads Policing Team attended along with a Forensic Collision Investigator and Scene of Crime Officer. 

The B3277 was closed between St Agnes and Chiverton Cross, at the junction with Towan Cross, up to Three Burrows, Blackwater, and did not reopen until 8.30pm.
