Contentious plans to build two apartment blocks near a popular Falmouth pub have been withdrawn after the community rallied in objection.
The application, if successful, would have seen ten flats and one shop built in land near Beerwolf Books.
A total of 153 comments objecting to the plans were submitted after a post was made on the pub's Facebook page asking people to voice their opinions.
Cornwall Council's case officer recommended the plans for refusal in light of the public objections as well as several other objections from consultees.
The land that developers were hoping to build on lies in a critical drainage area, and so Cornwall Council's lead local flood authority objected.
Falmouth Town Council also objected for various reasons including over development, loss of light, overlooking and poor design.
