A PORTHLEVEN man has pleaded guilty to 12 sex offences, including two of raping a child.

Tyler Munday, aged 22, of Mounts Bay Terrace, appeared at Truro Crown Court this morning to answer the charges.

The rapes took place between 2011 and 2013 and again in 2018.

A further three offences involved sexual activity with a child under the age of 13 between 2011 and 2013, with the remaining seven relating to sexual activity with an under 16 year-old in 2017 and 2018.

Defending Munday, Edward Bailey said that they were extremely serious offences which would result in a substantial custodial sentence.

Mr Bailey requested that the case be adjourned for a psychiatric report to be prepared, because Munday had previously suffered sexual abuse at the hand of "several different perpetrators".

Judge David Ticehurst told Munday, whose guilty pleas were barely audible in court, that he will be sentenced on Friday, September 6.

He was remanded in custody and ordered to sign the sex offenders' register.
