SHARP'S Brewery is launching the latest of its limited edition releases, Six Hop IPA.

The third of its five limited editions this year, the brewery describes Six Hop IPA as "a juicy IPA".

It was first brewed in 2014 and, for 2019, the brewing team has introduced different hops to the formula, "imparting fresh, new flavours".

It goes on to say: "With prominent fresh fruity aromas and a pale golden hue, this unique brew is a 4.8% India pale ale with a taste of American style hops".

It was originally created to celebrate Sharp’s 20th anniversary in 2014.

Throughout this year, Sharp’s is releasing five limited release brews that "put a twist on original recipes and harness the creativity of the brand’s dynamic brewing team".

By revisiting popular recipes, the brewing team at Sharp’s has developed a new range, tailored to suit each season.

Six Hop IPA follows Manu Bay, which was re-released in May and Rising Tide, brought back in March.

Sharp’s Brewery recently announced the appointment of Aaron McClure as its new head brewer.

The 30-year-old, who has worked at the Cornish brewery for eight years, was promoted from his previous role as technical brewer.

In his new role, he will manage the brewing team and oversee production of Sharp’s core portfolio of beers, as well as leading the development of projects and innovations such as the limited releases and single batch, pilot plant brews.

Aaron replaced Andrew Madden, who has taken on a new position as supply chain operations manager.

Ed Hughes, beer sommelier at Sharp’s, said: “Six Hop IPA has wonderful and prominent fresh pineapple and mango aromas with a taste that is reminiscent of American style hops; think pine, citrus and stone fruits.

"With its lovely sweet taste, it pairs really well with salads, fish and chips and fried calamari. I personally cannot wait for this one to be brought back.”

James Nicholls, marketing controller at Sharp’s, added: “We first brewed this Six Hop IPA back in 2014 to celebrate our 20th anniversary and we’re excited to bring it back this year for the 25-year milestone. This time around we’ve experimented with an updated recipe to introduce some new, fruity flavours which will make it the perfect, refreshing summer drink.

"Brewing of the Limited Release beers is always an exciting time for our team and we hope everyone enjoys this delicious brew as much as the team enjoyed making it.”

Six Hop IPA will be available at selected locations until the end of August.
