A DISTRESSED dog had to be rescued from a car on the Lizard Peninsula this afternoon.
Six firefighters from Mullion attended a request from police to a dog locked in a car at beauty spot Kynance Cove.
Firefighters taped up a car window before breaking it to release the dog.
Using a thermal imaging camera crews, recorded the temperature in the car was recording as 34 degrees celcius just after 3pm.
The springer spaniel was left in the care of National Trust officers and the incident is being investigated by Devon and Cornwall Police.
