Two people arrested in connection with a series of fires in Helston last month have been re-bailed for a further three weeks.

A 19-year-woman had previously been bailed until yesterday and a 21-year-old man was due to answer bail today.

However, police have confirmed they will remain on bail now until August 8.

The pair were arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle that occurred overnight on June 25/26.

They were also being questioned about a series of fires to vehicles and homes in the Helston area, including in Oliver's Terrace and Penberthy Road.

Police have been appealing for witnesses in the areas of Helston and Pentewan, near St Austell. Anyone with information is asked to ring 101 quoting crime reference numbers CR/56420/19 and CR/56448/19.
