A man who died in a suspected hit-and-run collision in St Teath last week has been named as 31-year-old Ryan Saltern.

Emergency services were called at around 1.20am on Sunday, July 28 after the body of a man was located on the B3267.

Mr Saltern, from Truro, had sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. His injuries were consistent with having been struck by a vehicle.

His family has paid the following tribute to him: “Ryan was an exceptional, loving, kind and happy husband, father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, son-in-law, brother-in-law, cousin, and best friend to many.

“He will be severely missed and the devastation has affected not just our family, but everyone who was lucky enough to have met him.

“He touched the hearts of many and his memory will live on forever.”

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident and are appealing for witnesses.

A 39-year-old man, who is local to the area, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failure to stop. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
