ARSON is suspected after straw bales caught light near Helston last night.
Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said it was called at just before 8.15pm to the site between Nancegollan and Praze-an-Beeble.
A spokesperson said: "One fire appliance from Tolvaddon Community Fire Station attended and the crew used two hosereels to extinguish a fire involving two large straw bales.
"Arson is suspected and Devon and Cornwall Police has been informed."
