The chaplaincy team at RNAS Culdrose has been giving out birds of prey stickers and asking people to display them on their car, place of work or in a public area.
It is hoped that anyone who spots one will pause for a moment and think about all the people who work at Culdrose - also known as HMS Seahawk - and their families.
A spokesman said: "We feel this is particularly important when personnel are deployed and families feel bereft.
"To know that there are people praying for you can be a real comfort."
The team has also asked families to write their prayers on paper which has been folded into origami birds, to be hung in the chapel at the Navy base.
