The sun shone on the annual Port Navas Regatta and regulars and visitors alike enjoyed a fun-filled event.

Over the years it has raised money for charities such as Cornwall Air Ambulance, the local hospice movement and RNLI and this year the committee is hoping to be able to distribute around £4,000.

Richard Tiptaft, chairman of the committee, said: “This has been a fantastic year. It all takes so much time and effort but the fun and laughter on the day – and raising so much for charity - makes all the effort seem worthwhile.”

As well as water events, there were plenty of activities along the shore line with family games and stalls. The "Under the Water" children’s fancy dress contest produced some amazing costumes and the children’s races were very popular.

The barbecue with lamb was supplied by Budock Vean Hotel and the food tent, run by Cate Jones, with home-made cakes and savoury food, were especially successful.

Gaye and Richard Tiptaft were awarded the Ron Badger Special Award for their huge contribution. They have organised the regatta for several years and have worked tremendously hard to raise thousands for charity.
