Burglars have broken in to a Helston business under the cover of darkness.
Although no items were stolen in the break-in, damage was caused to the Screwfix store at Helston Business Park, which only opened to the public in January this year.
Police said the burglary took place at some point between 1am and 2am on Saturday, August 17.
A spokesperson for Screwfix said: "We can confirm there was a break-in at our store in Helston Business Park on Saturday, August17, when the store was closed.
"Anyone with any information should contact Devon and Cornwall Police.
"As this is an ongoing investigation, we are unable to comment further."
Police have now launched an appeal for witnesses or anyone who might have information about the incident.
They would particularly like to hear from anyone who might have CCTV in the area.
Anyone who can help is asked to email 101@dc.police.uk or call101 quoting crime reference CR/074135/19.
