A HOTEL in Truro is hosting a Beer and Cornish Drinks Festival in October.

The Alverton Hotel will open the doors to its Great Hall and welcome suppliers from across the county and further afield.

Sharp’s Brewery will be the headline sponsors and will be joined by other breweries including Padstow Brewing, Dynamite Valley, Kona and more.

And it’s not just beer that will take centre stage.

In addition to guest ales, local ciders and craft beers on offer, the festival will have a host of other tempting tipples, including local gins from the likes of Tarquin’s and St Ives, as well as rum and fizz.

The drinks suppliers will be at the festival from midday until 7pm, where ticket holders can quiz them on their speciality drinks, try free samples and purchase their favourites. There will also be live brewery talks and masterclasses held in The Library.

A banquet of rustic nibbles will also be available and a line-up of local musicians will be performing live music from the afternoon until late.

Mog Jones, Will Keating, Simon and Lauren Willis, The Roosters and Off The Lights will all be performing.

Tickets are available through Eventbrite and include a keepsake pint or gin glass to take home, a free drink, and access to all of the masterclasses and live music throughout the day.
