A LUXURY dessert restaurant has its grand launch tomorrow but some very special guests were the first through its doors.

MPs Yasmin Qureshi and David Crausby were among the 100 VIPs invited to Heavenly Desserts, along with Mayor of Bolton Cllr Hilary Fairclough, Saeed Atcha MBE and 'Gordon Ramsay'.

While it was not the real Michelin star chef and TV personality, the look-a-like had a number of guests in attendance fooled.

The Bolton restaurant is the 17th Heavenly Desserts in the UK and comes as part of the franchise’s expansion into the North West.

Managing Director Yousif Aslam spoke enthusiastically of how the dessert restaurant’s profile has been bolstered by its location in the town and his excitement at welcoming visitors from Bolton and its surroundings to the store tomorrow.

He said: “Occupying part of the former Beale’s Department Store has really helped us in terms of raising our profile as it’s quite an iconic and well-known landmark in Bolton.

“We’re really excited to open our doors officially on Saturday. Heavenly Desserts have a great reputation in the North West of England and finally we can offer our great range of products to the dessert fans in Bolton.”

At the VIP launch, guests enjoyed platters featuring samples of the sweet dishes available from the restaurant’s extensive menu.

Cllr Fairclough cut the ribbon and expressed her delight at the sweet addition to Bolton town centre.

She added: “It’s important to Bolton that we have good businesses that have confidence in our town coming along to make Bolton the success that it is.

"I’m delighted that they’ve chosen Bolton to bring one of their Heavenly Dessert stores here and I’m convinced that it will do magnificently well.”

Guests are invited to come to the grand opening tomorrow.

Doors will be open from noon with desserts, milkshakes and hot drinks available until midnight.
