Emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious collision on the A390 at Probus.

Police, fire and ambulance were called at 10.30am today following the collision between two cars close to the Mercedes-Benz dealership, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

One woman is in a serious condition following the collision and three other people have sustained minor injuries.

The A390 has been closed by Waitrose – the A390 junction with the A39 – and at Tregony Road.

A police spokesperson said: "The road is likely to remain closed for some time and motorists are advised to avoid the area for the time being."

The collision is believed to have taken place close to the Mercedes Benz car dealership near Tresillian.

There is very slow traffic at Denas Water, between the B3275 turn off to Probus and A3078 turn off to Tregony.

UPDATE: The A390 remains closed in both directions, slow traffic due to accident from Merther turn-off (Tresillian) to A3078 (Probus).

There is congestion to Probus as traffic diverts around the closure.
