CRIME and mystery are the orders of the week in Farnworth’s amateur dramatic scene.

Trinity Drama Group are hosting the interactive play A Will To Murder at Trinity Methodist Church on Friday and Saturday.

Fittingly, the date of the first play is Friday the 13th, which ties in with the spooky theme of the production.

Written by Russell Unsworth and co-created by Catherine Roe, the play is set in the lounge of a wealthy Arkwright family in the 1930s.

Family and other requested people are gathering for the reading of a will. Before the will is read, someone is murdered.

It is the audience’s job to try and find out who, why and how.

The cast themselves are unaware of who has done it but throughout the evening, the audience will get a chance to question the characters.

During the course of the evening, the audience will also be served a three-course meal of pate, pasty and peas, and cake.

The show will start at 7.30pm.

Trinity Drama Group will also be holding open auditions for its pantomime Beauty and the Beast at 7pm on October 4, at Trinity Methodist Church.

The pantomime is the fourth to be written by director Russ Unsworth.

The group are always welcoming new members.

This weekend also marks the last chance to catch Farnworth Little Theatre’s production of Agatha Christie’s An Unexpected Guest.

The classic murder mystery is set in South Wales, when a stranger runs his car into a ditch in dense fog. Upon making his way to an isolated house, he discovers a woman standing over the dead body of her wheelchair-bound husband, gun in her hand. She admits to murder, and the man offers to help her concoct a cover story.

However it may be possible that she did not commit the murder after all and she may be protecting someone.

It is once again up to the audience to find the murderer before the police.

The production runs until Saturday at Farnworth Little Theatre.

It stars Janet Leather as the woman Laura Warwick, Pip Hilward as the dead husband Richard Warwick, and Andrew Gradwell as the ‘unexpected guest’ Michael Starkwedder.

The cast also includes Donna Cubbage, Nick Eccles, Jennifer Lee, Phil Ward, Matt Sheader, Dave Eyre and Kev Walsh.

Doors open at 7pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the show starting at 7.30pm.

All the remaining shows are sold out but for possible ticket returns please contact the Box Office on 0845 643 0808 or check online at: www.farnworthlittletheatre.co.uk/book-tickets-online.html.
