Emergency services raced to Falmouth waterfront last night after a diving trip took a turn for the worse.
Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team and an ambulance were scrambled to Custom House Quay at 8.50pm.
The coastguards transferred a casualty from a dive vessel onto the quay, where paramedics were waiting.
A Falmouth coastguard team spokesperson said: "The casualty was a diver, but was taken ill on the journey back to Falmouth.
"He was taken to hospital for further treatment."
