A Truro-based condiments company won an award for its child-friendly sauce.

Rebelicious’ Smoked Tomato Goodchup ketchup won first in the Best for Children category in this year’s Nourish Awards.

The company was founded by a mum who struggled to find healthy food for her six-month-old daughter.

Cofounder Tilly Aviram took matters into her own hands and started making her own sauces, soon realising that there was a market for the health-conscious condiments.

Rebelicious’ ketchup is free from salt and refined sugars.

The awards ceremony celebrating the best in health foods across the country was held at the Cheltenham Race course in Gloucestershire.

Tilly said: “We are proud and delighted to have won this award.

“It’s been the culmination of a lot of hard work from a company which is committed to creating healthy food and drink products for children and grown ups which are nutritious and tasty.

“It’s humbling to be in the company of the other nominees and getting to know more about their products too.”

Diana Murphy, founder of the Nourish awards, said: “We are proud and delighted to have won this award.
