Parents in Porthleven are worrying about the safety of their children after two men approached young skateboarders asking to buy drugs off them this weekend.

One mum posting on Facebook said that her sons are now too scared to walk around the village after the incident.

Police confirmed reports of the pair acting suspiciously in the skatepark on Saturday.

Officers attended and moved them on.

At least one of men is understood to be local to Porthleven.

One mum posting on Facebook said: “This guy needs to leave the village. My poor lads are scared to walk around the village now and won’t go down the skatepark till he’s gone.”

Another said: “My grandson and his friends were approached by him in the park, he was wearing a long black coat and black hat and had blacked out his face.”

She went on to say: “My grandson and his friends are now too scared to go out. This has got to stop!”

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “Police were called shortly before 6pm on Sunday September 15 following reports of two men acting suspiciously in a park in Porthleven.

“It was reported that they had approached children and were asking for drugs.

“Officers attended and spoke to the men, who were asked to leave the area.”
